On the eve of the Ramadan holy month the “Islam in Kazakhstan current problems and challenges of our time” lecture was held in the Library of Elbasy, which was attended by the students of Humanities College of the capital city, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
This event was implemented within the framework of the scientific and educational program “New Kazakhstan: our future is in our hands” and is dedicated to the role of Islam in modern Kazakhstan, as well as the republic's relations with the Muslim world countries.
During the lecture, young people got acquainted with the norms of the Republic of Kazakhstan Law “On Freedom of Religion and religious associations”, learned participation of the Republic in activities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and interaction with various non-governmental socio-religious Islamic organizations.
Special attention of the audience was payed to the current problems associated with the emergence and development of destructive religious movements in Kazakhstan.
After the lecture, students got view the expositions of the Elbasy Library museum.
