Member of the Parliament of Canada and Co-Chair of the Kazakhstan - Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group Mr. Shafqat Ali delivered a statement on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of diplomatic relations’ establishment between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Canada in the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
In his statement, the Canadian MP stressed that Kazakhstan, like Canada, is a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional state and noted the abundant natural resources, similarity of the structure of national economies, climatic conditions and landscapes of the two countries.
Mr. Shafqat Ali informed the Canadian parliamentarians that Kazakhstan is Canada's largest trading partner in Central Asia and an influential regional player. The Canadian MP outlined that our countries are successfully developing multilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations such as the UN, OSCE and other forums.
He highlighted that Canada welcomes our country's large-scale socio-political and democratic transformations in order to build a «New Kazakhstan» and expresses its firm support for the course of political and economic reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev and initiated within the framework of the Address of the Head of State «New Kazakhstan: the path of renewal and modernization» dated March 16, 2022.
At the end of his speech, Sh.Ali called on the Canadian authorities to deepen mutually beneficial bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan.
