On May 6, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea B.Dyussenbayev met with the Vice President of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) Kim Hyun Chul, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
Issues on mutual economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed at the meeting. Ambassador B.Dyussenbayev noted the fruitful cooperation in all areas, including economic cooperation. He emphasized that in 2021 the volume of attracted direct investments from South Korea to Kazakhstan amounted to a record $805.5 million.
Kim Hyun Chul, Vice President of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), noted that Kazakhstan is one of the important partners of South Korea in Central Asia and mentioned the high volume of bilateral trade, which amounted to $3.2 billion in 2021.
During the meeting, issues related to the activities of the Business Council between JSC “Samruk Kazyna” and KITA were also discussed. The parties agreed to hold a joint event within the framework of the Business Council in the near future.
In addition, KITA expressed its readiness to work closely with KAZAKH INVEST NC JSC, including holding business forums, seminars and consultations between the businesses of the two countries during 2022.
