At a meeting in Zagreb with the head of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Luka Burilović, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Croatia, Altay Abibullayev, informed the Croatian side about the socio-political changes and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan. A wide range of Kazakh-Croatian trade, economic and investment cooperation was discussed, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The leadership of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce is interested in the revitalization and dynamic development of investment and trade and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan, while noting the discrepancy between the current level of bilateral trade and the potential of our countries (according to the statistics of the Kazakh side, in 2021, trade reached 681 million euros, and in January - September 2022 amounted to 355 million euros).
Luka Burilovich considers Kazakhstan the most important trade and economic partner of Croatia in the Eurasian space, expressing interest to take part in the work of the Astana Economic Forum.
In order to ensure progressive and proactive institutional interaction in the interests of the business community and in the light of the new economic, financial and investment realities of our countries, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan proposed to sign a new generation agreement between NCE Atameken and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce with the holding of a Kazakh-Croatian business forum as part of the first meeting of the Kazakh -Croatian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation in 2023. The parties also reached an agreement in principle to give a new impetus to enhancing cooperation in the field of tourism.
