A round table dedicated to the results of the election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Vietnam, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The event was attended by experts from leading research institutes of Vietnam, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, major mass media and the Ambassador of Vietnam to Kazakhstan Pham Thai Ny Mai (via videoconference).

Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Vietnam Yerlan Baizhanov informed the audience about the preliminary results of the vote, in which the incumbent leader of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev won a landslide victory.

Focusing on the historical importance of the current elections of the country's leader, Ambassador Yerlan Bayzhanov noted that the country is moving to a new state policy, which will be based on three interrelated principles: a fair state – a fair economy – a fair society.

Vietnam's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Pham Thai Ny Mai expressed the opinion that the main focus of President Tokayev's work will be on the comprehensive modernization of the country, both in the field of domestic policy and on the economic track. In her opinion, the elections are only the first part of the path that Kazakhstan will have to go through in the next 7 years. She stressed that the elections attracted increased international interest, and also noted their transparency and democratic nature.

Director of the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda of Vietnam, Professor Pham Min Shon believes that President Tokayev's decisive measures to establish a new political system and improve the welfare of the people have found broad and informed support of the population, and the new 7-year term of the presidency is sufficient for the conceptual design of the political course and the implementation of the socio-economic strategy of the Kazakh leader.

Do Huong Lan, Deputy Director of the Center for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the National University of Economics, focused on economic aspects. In her opinion, the implementation of structural reforms in the economic sphere, especially on demonopolization, entrepreneurship support and competition development, will effectively combat corruption and excessive bureaucracy, and the new economic model will become the basis for overcoming modern challenges.

The leading analyst of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, Nguyen Thanh Tam, referring to the future of Kazakh-Vietnamese relations, pointed out the value of Kazakhstan's experience of modernization, as well as the significant potential in strengthening research and educational cooperation. She said that the President of the National Political Academy plans to visit Kazakhstan in 2023 to strengthen cooperation between the Academy and Kazakh analytical and research structures. Vietnam's leading experts are interested in studying Kazakhstan's experience of reforms, Nguyen Thanh Tam noted.

During the event, representatives of the Vietnamese mass media showed a high interest in the political processes in Kazakhstan, asking the participants of the round table a lot of questions.
