In order to increase the tourist flow to the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with the Order of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 871 dated August 13, 2019, a pilot project is being implemented on the territory of Almaty, Astana and Turkestan to compensate the amount of VAT to individuals who are citizens of foreign states «Tax Free» when buying goods worth at least 20 MCI (implementation period until 01.07.2023), Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
For the duration of the pilot project from December 2019 tourists made purchases of goods totaling 287.3 million tenge, the amount of compensation amounted to 22.2 million tenge.
