Representatives of the National Confederation of Industry of Brazil (CNI), headed by Vice President Gilberto Porcello Petry, arrived in Astana to participate in the second meeting of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Business Council, DKNews.kz reports.
The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) has been the main representative of the Brazilian industry since 1938, bringing together 27 regional federations of industry, 1,250 trade unions, and 350,000 companies.
During the visit, a meeting was held with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almas Aidarov, who noted the high potential for the development of bilateral cooperation between the countries, emphasizing that Brazil is Kazakhstan's largest economic partner in South America. According to him, in 2022, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to $364.2 million, showing a growth of 115% compared to 2021. In addition, the Deputy Minister talked about the importance of the Business Council, which was created in 2021 to expand economic ties between the countries, and expressed confidence in the productive holding of the Second meeting of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Business Council in Astana.
During the meeting with the management of "KAZAKH INVEST", a presentation of investment opportunities in the Republic of Kazakhstan was held. Vice Chairman of the Board of the national company, Zhandos Temirgali, talked about the investment potential of the country and acquainted the meeting participants with preferences and other tools that create a comfortable business climate for foreign companies in Kazakhstan.
In turn, Vice President of CNI, Gilberto Porcello Petry, highly appreciated the political and economic transformations in Kazakhstan, expressed hope that this visit will make a significant contribution to ensuring bilateral cooperation and help to find common points of contact for the business of the two countries. He also noted that trade relations are developing rapidly, which should also stimulate the development of investment relations. According to him, Brazilian companies are interested in implementing joint projects in the agro-industrial, mining and metallurgical, engineering, and other industries.
