The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands has organized the annual celebration of the National holiday Nauryz. It was arranged as a concert by the musical ensemble Turan at the Diligentia Theatre on the 9th of April, DKNews.kz reports.
More than 400 people attended the evening, including Kazakhstani citizens currently residing in the Netherlands, the representatives of Dutch businesses and political figures, as well as Ambassadors of different countries to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. After the concert, the guests could enjoy the food and refreshments organized by the Embassy. They were offered popular items of Kazakh cuisine.
During the concert, the ensemble "Turan" performed nomadic compositions using Central Asian musical instruments, such as "shan-kobyz", "sibyzgi", "zhetigen", "dauylpaz", and used the technique of throat singing. They helped bring a spotlight on traditional Kazakh music for the residents of the Netherlands.
In addition, the Kazakh Language Club students, that is being provided at the Embassy, have made their own performance during the event. They sang numerous compositions such as “Men Kazakhpyn” and “Nauryz”. As a result, the requests for joining the Kazakh language club have increased significantly.
Overall, guests provided positive reviews and expressed their gratitude for organizing Nauryz celebration on a yearly basis. They commented that it is a good way to promote Kazakh traditions to the local audience and a great ground to see fellow countrymen.
