On May 23, the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted museum lessons on the theme "Institute of Batyrship: traditions, status and armament" for seventh-grade students of the capital's Lyceum School No. 27 and Lyceum School No. 85 named after Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, DKNews.kz reports.

Classes from the cycle "Exhibits have spoken ..." were held in the "Gallery of Glory" hall, where a unique collection of weapons and military equipment from the Library's collections is on display.

The first part of the lesson focused on the history and peculiarities of the tradition of giving weapons.

"The gift of arms has become part of diplomatic etiquette and still survives. The gift of arms is, first of all, a recognition of courage and leadership qualities of the person to whom it is given, therefore arms were always presented to the first persons of the state" Noted the lecturer

Schoolchildren also got acquainted with the concepts of "institute of batyrship" and "bes karu" – the equipment of the Kazakh warrior-batyr, consisting of five mandatory types of combat weapons.

The children got a unique opportunity not only to see museum exhibits nearby but also to touch the unique artefacts from the collection of weapons presented in the exhibitions.
