A round table dedicated to the results of the Astana International Forum on the theme “Tackling challenges through dialogue: towards cooperation, development and progress”, which was held on June 8-9, 2023 in the capital of Kazakhstan, was held at Institute of Economic Research of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, DKNews.kz reports.
Among the participants of the round table were leadership of the Institute, representatives of the expert community, scientific and academic circles, the media, as well as members of the Friends of Kazakhstan Club and others.
In his opening speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Viktor Temirbayev spoke about the main results of the AIF, designed to unite the efforts of the world community to find consolidated answers to challenges associated with the increase in geopolitical tensions and the cardinal transformation of traditional models of interstate cooperation.
“AIF promoted more active interaction during the unprecedented geopolitical situation, bringing together leading world experts to exchange opinions and experience. Only by meeting, consulting, being mutually honest about our common problems, concerns and hopes, the international community will be able to solve these issues – this was the main mission of the last Forum,” the Kazakh diplomat concluded.
During the round table, a journalist of the largest information holding, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, Spas Stambolski, shared his impressions of participating in the work of the AIF. According to his estimates, the AIF aroused great interest from the world community and leading international media, which is confirmed by the high level of foreign delegates and their active participation in panel sessions.
The participants of the round table highly appreciated the multilateral approach in Kazakhstan's foreign policy, the active role of the “connecting link” between West and East, North and South, and the efforts made by Astana to strengthen peace and international security. In their opinion, in the current geopolitical tension, the AIF platform allowed the world community to consider and discuss joint measures to counter challenges through dialogue in the spirit of mutual cooperation.
At the end of the event, the experts also noted the progressive nature of the development of relations between Astana and Sofia, highly appreciating the current level and prospects of interstate cooperation.
