Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Canada, Dauletbek Kussainov, visited Regina, the capital of Saskatchewan province, DKNews.kz reports.
During the visit, the Kazakh diplomat had a fruitful meeting with the Premier of Saskatchewan province, Scott Moe, and also held a series of meetings with the government. During the talks with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Jim Reiter, they discussed issues of cooperation on the development of renewable and nuclear energy, as well as the participation of Canadian businesses in mining projects in Kazakhstan. The Minister of National Parks, Culture and Sport, Laura Ross, invited Kazakh specialists to visit Grasslands and Prince Albert National Parks to study experience in park infrastructure development in Canada.
At the meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture, Ambassador D. Kussainov proposed to organize mutual visits of agrarian missions of the two countries, as well as expressed the interest of our farmers in conducting specialized training in Saskatchewan in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. During negotiations with the Deputy Minister of Trade and Imports Jodi Banks, the Canadian side was invited to consider a promising list of exports from Kazakhstan.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan accepted an invitation from the largest Association of Industrial and Mining Suppliers in the province to attend the Energy Forum. During the event, D. Kussainov informed attendees about President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s initiatives in the mining, oil, and gas sectors of the state, which were outlined in his State of the Nation Address on September 1st of this year.
On the margins of the Forum, the Ambassador also held a number of business meetings to discuss the implementation of promising projects in the uranium and mining industries.
