Kazakh culture in the center of Vienna: concert in honor of the national holiday

Republic Day was celebrated with a gala concert in the capital of Austria, DKNews.kz reports.

On the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a gala concert of the leading national folklore and ethnographic ensemble "Sazgen Sazy" was held in one of the famous Viennese concert halls “Muth”.

The programme included works by Abai, Nurgisa Tlendiev, Latifa Hamidi, Johann Strauss, Giacomo Puccini and others, accompanied by Kazakh instruments such as the kyl-kobyz, sybyzy, dangyra, sherter and sazsyrnai.

The event was attended by Austrian politicians, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of business, the media, public and cultural organizations, as well as compatriots living in the Alpine republic.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Austria, H.E. Mukhtar Tileuberdi, welcomed the guests to the concert and emphasised the importance of further developing Kazakh-Austrian relations in various fields, including the cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The Head of Department of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, H.E. Ambassador Gerhard Sailler, former Ambassador of Austria to Kazakhstan, also delivered a congratulatory speech.

He noted Kazakhstan's leading role in Austria's relations with the Central Asian region and the importance of cultural diplomacy in building close friendship between our nations.
