Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary Zhanibek Abdrashov took part in the opening of the Budapest International Circus Exhibition – «The Wonderful World of Circus», which was held as part of the 15th Budapest International Circus Festival, DKNews.kz reports.
The exhibition dedicated to the history of circus art and science shows exhibits and artifacts from twelve countries, including Kazakhstan.
Maksat Zhaikov, Director of the Kazakh State Circus in Almaty, presented historical photographic materials, circus historical costumes, iconic and memorable posters, as well as books and magazines at the exhibition.
The exhibition provided an opportunity to experience the world's outstanding collections and museums of international circus heritage and to get an insight into the collections and scientific work of the Museum, Library and Archive of Hungarian Circus Arts. The visible wonders of the circus world were accompanied by rich hands-on experiences: a 100-year-old carousel, museum educational games, virtual tightrope walking and group circus training.
During the event, circus leaders from twelve countries signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of circus art.
It should be noted that the birth of the modern Kazakh circus counts from July 24, 1970 on this day the first Kazakh national program was shown.
The exposition hall of the history of the Kazakh State Circus opened in 2016 on the occasion of the circus' 50th anniversary. The museum depicts the history of circus art in Kazakhstan. It includes the first sketches of the building, photographs of the founders and veterans, an inventory of old circus acts, artist costumes, and mementos and gifts.
Today, the Kazakh Circus is actively developing as a unique cultural layer of art in the Republic. Awards from the world's largest circus festivals and competitions confirm its prestige.
