The World Bank will support tax reforms in Kazakhstan

Madi Takiyev met with representatives of the World Bank, DKnews.kz reports.

The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Madi Takiyev, held a meeting with the Regional Director of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Asad Alama.

Madi Takiyev noted that over the past years, Kazakhstan and the World Bank have developed strong and constructive cooperation covering a wide range of economic issues. He also expressed gratitude for the support provided, noting the positive contribution to the implementation of infrastructure projects.

The parties discussed government reform programs, including the development and implementation of a new Tax Code, and the provision of a grant to support tax administration reforms.

In addition, the Parties agreed to conduct an assessment of public spending and financial accountability (PEFA) in 2024-2025, which will contribute to improving financial transparency and efficiency of public financial management, as well as the investment attractiveness of the country as a whole.

The meeting was also attended by the Permanent Representative of the World Bank in Kazakhstan Andrey Mikhnev and other economists of the World Bank.
