From 7 to 9 November 2024, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography will host the III International Festival of Professinal Choreographic Schools «Temps lié». This significant cultural event is aimed at developing and promoting choreographic art on the international arena, as well as strengthening ties between choreographic schools from different countries. The festival will bring together outstanding ballet dancers and choreographers, providing them with a unique platform to share their experience and creative achievements, DKnews.kz reports.
The grand opening of the festival will take place on November 7 on the stage of Astana Ballet Theatre. That evening, the audience will be able to enjoy a unique production by the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography - the ballet «The Romance of the Rosebud and the Butterfly». This work, based on the last creation of the great Marius Petipa to the music the Butterfly» of Ricardo Drigo, edited by choreographer Vasily Medvedev, will be the centrepiece of the evening. The performance is timed to coincide with the 120th anniversary of the work's creation, which gives the event a special significance.
On November 8, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography will host master classes by world ballet stars - Mariinsky prima ballerina Diana Vishneva and renowned ballet dancer and choreographer Vladimir Malakhov. Their masterclasses will provide a unique opportunity to touch the highest art of dance.
Also, on November 8 the Academy will host a round table on the theme: ‘Prospects for the development of the choreographic school in the modern education system, where domestic and international partners of the Academy will take part.
The culmination of the festival will be the Gala Night, which will be held on 9 November on the stage of Astana Ballet. Students from two prestigious choreographic schools – The Boris Eifman Dance Academy and Beijing Dance Academy - will perform at the Gala Night. The Boris Eifman Dance Academy will present a one-act ballet «Epiphania», a perfomance about the eternal themes of human existence - faith, hope and love. Bejing Dance Academy will present the «Divertissement» program, which will combine classical works by Marius Petipa and Arthur Saint-Leon with contemporary productions, demonstrating the beauty and versatility of choreographic art.
The «Temps lié» festival is not only a celebration of dance, but also a platform for sharing experience, establishing international ties and inspiring new creative ideas. The Kazakh National Academy of Choreography invites all ballet lovers to become a part of this grandiose event.
