Estonian Parliament Seeks to Strengthen Cooperation with Kazakhstan, DKnews.kz reports
Altay Kulginov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Estonia, met with Marko Mihkelson, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu), to discuss opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation across a broad spectrum of trade, economic, and political issues, as well as the potential for high-level inter-parliamentary contacts.
Both sides recognized the significant potential for collaboration in key areas, including investment, transportation logistics, manufacturing, and agriculture, as well as in forestry and water management.
Ambassador Kulginov highlighted the importance of educational cooperation, as the leadership of the country pays special attention to improving the quality of knowledge in schools and higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan. In this context, he shared insights from recent visits by school principals and heads of several pedagogical universities from Kazakhstan to Estonia.
In response, Mihkelson underscored the significance of engaging with his counterparts in the Kazakhstan’s Parliament and suggested organizing an online meeting with Kazakh parliamentarians in the near future.
Following their discussions, both parties agreed to pursue ongoing collaboration on key issues within the bilateral agenda.
