Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov and Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “Kazakh Invest” Madiyar Sultanbek held a meeting with the CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation in Kazakhstan Tetsuya Sugita, DKnews.kz reports.
During the talks, Kuantyrov stressed that Kazakhstan’s new investment policy aims to develop high-value-added industries with an emphasis on further exports. In this regard, advanced Japanese technologies can strengthen human and technological capabilities.
During the meeting, representatives of Mitsubishi Corporation presented their corporate strategy 2024, aimed at sustainable development and reducing the carbon footprint. During the meeting, the Kazakh side was presented with such promising projects as the creation of infrastructure for the use of hydrogen technologies and the development of solutions in the field of renewable energy. In this regard, the importance that the company attaches to energy innovations, digital transformation, and high-tech production is fully consistent with Kazakhstan’s goals for developing a low-carbon economy.
The parties discussed key areas for cooperation in sustainable development, including introducing advanced technologies and implementing projects in the energy sector, infrastructure, and industry. Mitsubishi Corporation representatives expressed interest in expanding the company’s presence in Kazakhstan and implementing new initiatives to support the region’s sustainable development. On the sidelines of the C5+Japan business forum, Mitsubishi Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Asia Climate Foundation and Rakurs Tech LLC.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop cooperation, taking into account the company’s global initiatives in energy and digital transformation.
