A Meeting of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups of Kazakhstan and Greece will be Held in Astana, DKnews.kz reports
Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hellenic Republic Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev held a meeting with the Chairman of the Friendship Group with Kazakhstan of the Hellenic Parliament Eyaggelos Syrigos.
The Kazakh Ambassador briefed the interlocutor on the key aspects of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s State of the Nation Address, which focused on nine priority areas of strategic development, including the referendum on nuclear power plant construction.
Ambassador Baudarbek-Kozhatayev emphasized the positive dynamics of trade turnover, which reached a record 2.3 billion US dollars in 2023, highlighting efforts to diversify bilateral commerce.
Furthermore, the member of the Hellenic Parliament was informed about the outcomes of the visit of the delegations from the Municipality of Piraeus to Aktau in September 2024 and the Municipality of Elliniko-Argyroupoli to Astana in October 2024.
During the meeting, Eyaggelos Syrigos received an official invitation to visit Astana on behalf of the Chairman of the Friendship Group with Greece of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Aigul Kuspan.
Eyaggelos Syrigos accepted the invitation, expressing confidence that the upcoming visit of Greek MPs to Kazakhstan will contribute to the further strengthening of relations between the two countries.
The parties also discussed topical issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation and agreed to approve the agenda of the planned meeting of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups of Kazakhstan and Greece in Astana.
