Expanding Energy Partnership Discussed in Zagreb, DKnews.kz reports

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Croatia, Akylbek Kamaldinov, met with the leadership of the Croatian oil company “INA” to discuss the potential perspectives for joint exploration projects within the prospective areas in Kazakhstan and prospects for increasing energy supply volumes to Croatia.

Ambassador Kamaldinov briefed the Croatian partners on Kazakhstan’s efforts to diversify its oil export routes and develop the Trans-Caspian route and highlighted the priorities for developing Kazakhstan's petrochemical industry, as well as the regulatory and fiscal incentives provided by the government to attract investment in the field of exploration and hydrocarbon extraction. The role of Kazakhstan as a leading and reliable supplier of energy resources to the European Union was emphasized.

President of the “INA” Management Board, Zsuzsanna Ortutay, expressed her gratitude for the information provided and affirmed the company’s readiness to develop cooperation on mutually beneficial terms. Agreements were reached to maintain working contacts and hold negotiations with the Kazakh company “KazMunayGas” to explore the practical aspects of implementing prospective projects of mutual interest.

“INA” is Croatia’s largest oil and gas company, holding a strong position in the region in the fields of oil and gas exploration and production, oil refining, and the sale of petroleum products. The company owns several subsidiaries and operates two of Croatia’s largest oil refineries, located in Rijeka and Sisak.
