As agreed by the parties, the 9th Meeting of the High Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea Issues was held, DKnews.kz reports.
The delegations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (led by Samir Sharifov), the Islamic Republic of Iran (led by Alireza Jahangiri), the Republic of Kazakhstan (led by Zulfiya Amanzholova), the Russian Federation (led by Mikhail Petrakov) and Turkmenistan (led by Myrat Atajanov) took part in the negotiations.
The meeting was chaired by the head of the Kazakhstan delegation Zulfiya Amanzholova.
The parties continued the discussion on the methodology for establishing straight baselines in the Caspian Sea.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties carried out a review of cooperation in the Caspian Sea, discussed preparation for the next meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the Caspian states in Turkmenistan, as well as the progress of the negotiation process on the drafts of five-party documents.
Delegations expressed their gratitude to the Republic of Kazakhstan for the high level of organization of the meeting.
The next Meeting of the HLWG will be held in Turkmenistan on dates agreed through diplomatic channels.
