Ambassador of Kazakhstan Kairat Lama Sharif held a meeting with the newly appointed Minister of Justice of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Adnan Fanjari Abu Jabal Hussein, during which handed over to him an official congratulatory letter by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azamat Yeskarayev, DKnews.kz reports.
The parties discussed issues of enhancing bilateral cooperation. In particular, the Kazakh diplomat noted that our country clearly demonstrates its commitment to broad multilateral cooperation, including in the field of justice. It was emphasized that the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan is currently working to conclude 11 interstate treaties on legal assistance and 9 interdepartmental international agreements with various countries of the world. In this regard it was noted that the Kazakh side is interested profoundly in intensifying cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Arab Republic of Egypt in this field. As a result, the parties focused on the need to adopt in the near future interstate agreements between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Arab Republic of Egypt “On Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters”, “On Extradition” and “On the Transfer of Sentenced Persons”, which are at the approval stage. It was emphasized that the signing of these documents promotes the competent authorities of the two countries optimize legal cooperation in criminal proceedings.
At the same time, the Egyptian side was informed of the importance of adopting a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministries of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, which will contribute to the development and deepening of cooperation between the two departments, including in the framework of exchanging information on legal issues, mutual transfer of experience in the field of forensic examination, advocacy and notarial activities, as well as the provision of technical assistance necessary for justice institutions.
During the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat informed his interlocutor about the main provisions of the annual Address of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan – “Just Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Social Optimism” and the new tasks of political and socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan set by the Head of State.
