A round table was organized at D. Serikbaev East Kazakhstan Technical University to mark the one-year anniversary of the launch of the unique international educational project “Lu Ban Workshop.” Initiated a year ago, this project aims to train highly qualified engineering and technical specialists for the industrial sector of the region and the country at large.

An Innovative Approach to Workforce Training

“Lu Ban Workshop” provides students with access to advanced technologies, modern laboratories, and relevant educational programs. Particular attention is given to enhancing practical skills that meet the rapidly evolving demands of the labor market. Over the past year, the number of students enrolled in programs directly associated with the workshop has doubled, reflecting a growing interest in engineering and technical specialties. In addition, a new innovative educational program was developed and implemented, designed to train specialists who can fully meet the requirements of Industry 4.0.

International Cooperation and Industrial Support

During the round table, Jiang Wei, the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazakhstan, spoke about the importance of bilateral cooperation:

We are very pleased with our mutually beneficial partnership. From the very start of the negotiations to the official launch of the project, we observed a high level of engagement from VKTU, and we look forward to further strengthening our collaboration.
