Nazarbayev University (NU) hosts Science Week—a dynamic series of events dedicated to cutting-edge research and key issues in scientific advancement, from April 10 to 20, DKnews.kz reports.
The program includes expert discussions, student conferences, seminars, and academic forums.
The week opened with the Annual Research Conference titled "Transforming the Future of Engineering and Digital Sciences Research in Central Asia" to celebrate NU's 15th anniversary and Kazakhstan's Day of Science. The School of Engineering and Digital Sciences' (SEDS) researchers and foreign experts are presenting their findings across several high-impact areas: the use of social robots in autism therapy, electrical discharge machining for high-precision work with hard materials, fiber-optic biosensors for medical diagnostics, digital transformation within the framework of Industry 4.0, strategies for advancing modular construction in Kazakhstan, and cutting-edge technologies in hydrogen energy. The conference will feature plenary sessions, a scientific poster exhibition, and a 3 Minute Thesis competition.
The Department of Kazakh Language and Turkology at the School of Sciences and Humanities (SSH) hosts the National Student Scientific Conference "Young Scientist - VII," dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev. Students from universities nationwide will explore Abai's legacy and relevance in 21st-century education and research. The conference aims to strengthen students' academic research skills in the Kazakh language and foster a scholarly community among youth studying today's societal challenges.
Additionally, Science Week will feature the 5th Annual Student Forum on Integrity alongside a series of workshops and roundtable discussions on educational research and systematic literature reviews. Other events will include a seminar on deep mining and hydrogen research and online webinars on liberal arts and pharmaceutical development.
