Astana International Forum 2025: Global Leaders, CNN’s Max Foster to Gather in Kazakhstan, DKnews.kz reports.
Kazakhstan is set to once again welcome world leaders, renowned experts, and business representatives at the Astana International Forum (AIF2025), which will be held on May 29–30 in the capital city. Under the theme “Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future”, the forum aims to address today’s most pressing global challenges through inclusive and strategic dialogue.
Amid increasing global instability, polarization, climate threats, and economic uncertainty, AIF2025 will provide a critical platform for fostering international cooperation and identifying practical solutions. Kazakhstan, situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, continues to assert its growing diplomatic role by promoting open, multilateral dialogue.
Four key thematic areas will define this year’s forum:
- Foreign Policy and Security
- International Development and Sustainability
- Energy and Climate
- Economy and Finance
These topics will be explored through high-level discussions involving heads of state, business leaders, academics, and policy experts. AIF2025 is expected to catalyze joint initiatives and forge new partnerships to collectively address the most urgent issues facing the international community.
Adding to the international significance of the event, CNN anchor and correspondent Max Foster will attend the forum with a special edition of his show, “What We Know.” It will mark the first time the program is filmed on location.
“I’m very much looking forward to going to Astana — the first time we’ve taken the show on the road,” Foster said in a statement. “I’ll be speaking to everyone from the Prime Minister of Croatia, Mr. Plenković, to Amy Pope from the UN’s Organisation for Migration — and many others too.”

“The big, complex world issues that will be addressed at the forum — we’ll be reflecting on them in the show. I’m confident we have the right experts who can explain it all clearly, so we can all understand.”
CNN’s presence at AIF2025 underscores the forum’s growing international visibility and media relevance, positioning Astana as an increasingly important hub for global conversation and policy innovation.
