On June 16, 2025, the Second Forum on Industrial and Investment Cooperation between China and Central Asia took place in Kazakhstan's capital. During the event, Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan and Astana Innovations JSC signed a key memorandum of understanding that marks a new chapter in collaboration in the field of digital technologies and telecommunications infrastructure in Kazakhstan, DKnews.kz reports.
This strategic step includes the launch of a pilot project to demonstrate and test Huawei’s 10G broadband network in Astana. The initiative will provide a technological foundation for next-generation high-speed services aimed at improving connectivity quality, enhancing the resilience of digital networks, and further developing smart city solutions.
The project is being carried out with the support of the Astana City Administration’s Department for Digitalization and Public Services, which oversees the integration of innovative technologies into the urban environment and acts as a bridge between the public sector and technology partners.
