In honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Aliya Moldagulova, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Bulgaria organized a screening of a feature film dedicated to the celebrated daughter of the Kazakh nation.

The event was attended by the Chairperson and members of the Union of Journalists of Bulgaria, media representatives, as well as local public and cultural figures. Participants noted that Aliya Moldagulova’s heroic deed has become an integral part not only of Kazakhstan’s history, but also of the shared heritage of all nations that endured the hardships of war.
It is symbolic that it was in Bulgaria where Kazakhstan’s People’s Artist Roza Rymbayeva gained international recognition for her performance of the song “Aliya”, which became an anthem of remembrance and peace.

The film screening in Sofia served not only as a tribute to the heroine but also as an important step in strengthening cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria.
During World War II, Aliya Moldagulova served as a sniper in the 54th Separate Rifle Brigade of the 22nd Army, 2nd Baltic Front.
