A cultural evening dedicated to Kazakhstan was held at the Niavaran Historical and Cultural Complex in Tehran, creating a space where the two countries could connect through music, art and shared history, DKNews.kz reports.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Among the guests were Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, representatives of government agencies, ambassadors, heads of international organizations, cultural figures, scholars and media representatives. Around 200 people attended the opening ceremony.

What was said at the opening

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Iran, Oral Onalbai, noted that relations between the two countries are rooted not only in politics and economics, but also in deep historical and cultural ties.

He reminded that for centuries Kazakhstan and Iran were connected by the Great Silk Road - a route where trade, knowledge, culture and people intersected.

The Ambassador highlighted that today Kazakhstan is:

  • a dynamically developing country
  • strengthening its international standing
  • consistently carrying out political, economic and cultural reforms under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

He stressed that developing friendly and good-neighborly relations with Iran remains one of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy priorities.

The view from the Iranian side

Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri emphasized the steady growth of cultural cooperation between the two countries.

He expressed confidence that the evening of Kazakh culture in Tehran will:

  • revive historical ties in a new format
  • deepen mutual understanding
  • give fresh momentum to cultural dialogue

The Minister also underlined the importance of preserving cultural heritage, passing it on to future generations and using art as a powerful tool for bringing nations closer together.

Music, traditions and atmosphere

A highlight of the evening was the performance by the dombra ensemble “Serper” from the Mangystau region, presenting traditional Kazakh kuis that were warmly received by the audience.

Guests also had the chance to:

  • taste dishes of Kazakh national cuisine
  • explore an exhibition dedicated to traditions and customs
  • learn more about Kazakhstan’s history, culture and natural heritage

This event became more than just a cultural program - it turned into a bridge that brings people closer and strengthens the cultural dialogue between Kazakhstan and Iran.
