In Urumqi, China, D. Aimenov, Adviser and Head of the Passport and Visa Service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with the Head of the Foreign Affairs Office of Tacheng Prefecture in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, DKNews.kz reports.
The key topic of the discussion was how to better protect the legal rights and interests of Kazakh citizens who live or temporarily stay in the border regions of China.
Focus on people and real-life situations
The two sides talked through the issues Kazakh citizens most often face: document procedures, rules of stay, consular assistance in difficult situations, and improved information exchange between institutions.
Special attention was given to strengthening consular and legal cooperation - so that problems can be resolved faster and procedures become clearer and more transparent.
Agreement to continue working together
Following the talks, both sides agreed to continue constructive cooperation and jointly work through the priority areas that were discussed.
Such coordination is expected to help respond more quickly to citizens’ requests and further strengthen their legal protection in border regions.
