Germany Officially Recognizes Nazarbayev University Degrees and Institutional Quality Standards, DKNews.kz reports.

The Federal Republic of Germany has officially recognized the institutional accreditation of Nazarbayev University (NU), following its accreditation by the UK-based Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). This recognition confirms that NU’s institutional accreditation is valid through July 20, 2030.

NU was awarded institutional accreditation following a rigorous International Quality Review (IQR) by the QAA in August 2025, reflecting its adherence to global standards of higher education. By securing IQR accreditation, institutions like NU can clearly highlight their quality and standards internationally, facilitating recognition of qualifications and creating opportunities to engage in academic dialogues with institutions beyond their own regions.

As a result, academic documents issued by NU may be recognized in Germany as evidence of higher education achievement, provided they were obtained through accredited educational programs. Program-level accreditation must be conducted by a recognized accrediting agency.

Udo Michallik, Secretary General of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (KMK), commented:

“The decision affirms the established quality standards of NU at the institutional level and provides a foundation for transparent and consistent recognition of the qualifications it awards”

As previously reported, NU has been accredited by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) of the Ministry of Education of China, ensuring that its graduates’ diplomas are officially recognized by employers in China.

The new milestone reinforces NU’s commitment to maintaining high international standards in higher education and facilitates academic and professional mobility for its graduates in Germany and beyond.
