Kazakhstan took part in the 100th anniversary edition of the International Green Week (Grüne Woche) agricultural exhibition held in Berlin, where two national stands of the Republic of Kazakhstan were officially opened. Participation in one of the world’s largest agrifood exhibitions became an important step in promoting Kazakh products on the European market, DKNews.kz reports.

EU-Standard Products Draw Strong Interest

The exhibition featured Kazakhstan companies operating in compliance with EU standards and ready for regular supplies to Europe. Products presented by domestic producers attracted strong interest from international partners, distributors, representatives of German retail chains, and exhibition visitors.

According to participants, this attention once again confirmed the growing competitiveness and export readiness of Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial sector.

High-Level Delegation and GFFA Meetings

The Kazakh delegation was headed by Vice Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov, who also held a series of meetings and negotiations on the sidelines of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) international conference, traditionally held alongside Green Week.

Expanding Cooperation with Germany

During a meeting with Markus Schick, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Regional Identity of Germany (BMLEH), the parties discussed further expansion and deepening of cooperation in key areas.

These included crop production, livestock farming and veterinary services, seed production, sustainable agriculture, the introduction of energy- and water-saving technologies, food processing, and food supplies.

Invitation to Continue Dialogue in Astana

To ensure the practical implementation of the discussed agreements, the Kazakh side invited Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture and Regional Identity of Germany Alois Rainer to pay an official visit to Astana and continue the dialogue at a higher level.

Joint Projects and Capacity Building

As part of the visit, Azat Sultanov also met with the heads of cooperative projects being implemented between the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and BMLEH, including “Agricultural Policy Dialogue” and “Capacity Building in Dairy Farming”. These initiatives focus on knowledge transfer, professional training, and the adoption of modern agricultural practices.

Talks with CLAAS on Localization

Special attention was given to industrial cooperation. Issues related to increasing the level of localization and expanding the range of agricultural machinery produced in Kazakhstan were discussed with Christian Radons, Member of the Executive Board of CLAAS, and Michael Baier, Vice President for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Symbolic Gesture of Partnership

As a symbol of friendship and partnership between Kazakhstan and Germany, and in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Grüne Woche exhibition, the organizers were presented with 100 bulbs of Kazakhstani tulips on behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Focus on Export and Innovation

Following the visit, Kazakhstan reaffirmed its readiness to expand international cooperation, strengthen business ties with foreign partners, and actively introduce innovative approaches in the development of its agricultural sector.

Participation in the jubilee Green Week allowed Kazakhstan not only to demonstrate its export potential, but also to reinforce its image as a reliable and forward-looking partner in global agrifood markets.
