Kazakhstan is stepping up its economic dialogue with Saudi Arabia, one of the Middle East’s most influential business hubs. A meeting in Riyadh between Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Madiyar Menilbekov and Abdallah Al-Obeikan, Chairman of the Riyadh Chamber and Group CEO of Obeikan Investment Group, highlighted growing interest in expanding direct cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, DKNews.kz reports.
The talks focused on how to turn diplomatic engagement into practical economic partnerships.
Kazakhstan positions itself as a regional gateway
During the meeting, Ambassador Menilbekov emphasized Kazakhstan’s favorable investment climate and the range of government measures designed to support foreign investors. He also underscored the country’s strategic position as a regional hub for accessing the markets of Central Asia and Eurasia.
For Saudi companies looking beyond the Middle East, Kazakhstan offers not only a domestic market but also a platform for wider regional expansion, supported by logistics, infrastructure and stable economic policy.
Interest from Saudi business circles
Abdallah Al-Obeikan expressed readiness to actively support the development of business contacts between entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. He confirmed his willingness to facilitate direct B2B connections, as well as to back initiatives aimed at organizing business missions and joint events.
Such formats, participants noted, help businesses move faster from initial interest to concrete projects and investments.

From dialogue to next steps
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain working contacts and outlined further steps to promote mutually beneficial cooperation. The emphasis going forward will be on strengthening interaction between private sector representatives and identifying promising areas for joint initiatives.
Why this matters
Saudi Arabia is pursuing an ambitious economic diversification agenda and actively seeking international partners. For Kazakhstan, closer engagement with Saudi business opens opportunities to:
- attract new investment,
- expand trade links,
- develop joint projects in industry, logistics and services.
The Riyadh meeting showed that Kazakhstan–Saudi relations are increasingly moving beyond formal diplomacy toward practical, business-driven cooperation — a trend that could translate into tangible economic results for both sides.
