The target is $10 billion in trade. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are preparing a business forum aimed at expanding direct commercial ties and advancing investment cooperation between the two countries, DKNews.kz reports.
The goal of increasing bilateral trade was discussed by Yeraly Tugzhanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, and Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
$10 Billion Becomes a Key Target for Business
At the center of the talks was the task of increasing mutual trade between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to $10 billion.
Reaching that level will require more than a diplomatic agenda. The meeting separately addressed the development of trade and economic cooperation, investment, and stronger direct ties between the business communities of the two countries.
The target is expected to be supported by concrete supplies, investment projects, and new commercial partnerships.

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Prepare a New Business Forum
Another major topic was preparation for the upcoming Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan Business Forum.
This format gives companies from both countries an opportunity to discuss partnerships directly and identify new areas for expanding trade. For Kazakhstan, it also serves as a platform for promoting domestic businesses in one of its key neighboring markets.
Yeraly Tugzhanov and Davron Vakhabov reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening business ties and expanding bilateral cooperation.
The Goal Goes Beyond Simple Trade Growth
The $10 billion target raises the bar for economic cooperation between the two countries. The agenda is not limited to increasing the volume of mutual supplies, but also includes deeper investment cooperation and closer links between companies.
In this context, the business forum becomes a practical platform where the state-level target can be matched with the capabilities of entrepreneurs and investors.
For Kazakh companies, stronger business ties with Uzbekistan mean more opportunities to find partners, expand sales, and discuss joint projects.
Following the meeting, Tugzhanov and Vakhabov reaffirmed a common priority: to strengthen ties between the business communities of the two countries and broaden economic cooperation. One of the key figures on the bilateral agenda is now $10 billion in mutual trade.
