Senators held more than 340 meetings in all regions of the country

Under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Chamber, Maulen Ashimbayev, a meeting of the Bureau was held, at which the deputies approved the agenda of the Senate meeting scheduled for September 9, 2021, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The issue of termination of powers and dismissal of a member of the Accounts Committee appointed by the Senate to control the execution of the republican budget will be submitted to the senators for consideration at the meeting. Also on Thursday, senators will consider the bill "On ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union as of May 29, 2014 in connection with the accession of the Republic of Armenia to it", approved by the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The draft law is aimed at ensuring effective cooperation in the field of electric power industry between the EAEU member states, including the Republic of Armenia.

"All the instructions of the Head of State, voiced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in a recent Address and the proposals of our Standing Committees should be reflected in the Plan of the main activities of the Senate for the upcoming session. The senators will work with the relevant state bodies for the high-quality and timely implementation of all the designated tasks," Maulen Ashimbayev said.

During the meeting of the Bureau, the information of the chairmen of the committees of the Chamber on the results of the deputies ' departure to the regions, which they made from July 1 to August 28, was also heard. Taking into account the requirements of the pandemic, the meetings were held in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological safety standards. In total, the deputies of the Senate held more than 340 meetings in all regions of the country with residents of cities and other settlements, including remote villages.

"During the meetings of senators with residents of the regions, a number of issues of concern to our citizens were raised. In the future, all deputies of the Chamber need to carry out systematic work to solve these problems, using all mechanisms. As you can see, there is a lot of work ahead. We will work together in the interests of the country and in order to implement the President's Address," Maulen Ashimbayev summed up.

During the trips, the senators discussed various issues with the residents of the regions, including measures to provide social support to citizens, the agricultural sector, small and medium-sized businesses in the context of a pandemic, infrastructure development, etc. During these meetings, the senators identified problems related to the deterioration of local roads and infrastructure systems, interruptions in water and gas supply, providing farmers with seeds, fuel and fertilizers, the quality and accessibility of health services to the population, social support for large and poor families. In addition, citizens made proposals to improve legislation in various areas.
