Kazakh Musicians Entered the Mezzo TV Ratings

Astana Opera’s global musical project – Mahler’s famous Symphony No. 8, performed by 1,200 artists under the baton of the famous maestro, Astana Opera’s principal conductor Alan Buribayev, stirred great interest among the viewers of the popular European television channel Mezzo TV Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

As a reminder, shortly before the New Year holidays, Astana Opera launched a broadcast of a recording of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, performed by 1,200 musicians, on the Mezzo TV, a television channel dedicated to classical music. The concert was transmitted in 38 countries of Europe and the world, and the audience of about 40 million people got acquainted with this masterpiece, performed by Kazakh musicians. 

Viewers shared their opinion about the performance on the Internet: “First of all, I was amazed by the scale of this project. Creating a concert of such a magnitude probably required tremendous effort. The sound of the orchestra, choir, and soloists was presented at the highest level. The famous conductor Alan Buribayev is loved not only here, in Europe, he is in demand everywhere today. At this concert, the maestro revealed the huge potential of Kazakh artists and for us, Kazakhstan has certainly become closer,” a user from France named Christian Erskine wrote.

The high level of Kazakh art and the country’s creative potential were also appreciated by other followers of the channel. “This is one of my favorite symphonies by Gustav Mahler. The Kazakh musicians’ interpretation was truly special. In my opinion, the artists’ skill, their nuanced understanding of the material played an important role. I had a wonderful evening. I urge everyone who has not had time to listen to this magnificent concert yet, to follow the program and be sure not to miss the next broadcast,” Fleur de Guise said. 

It is important to emphasize that Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 has been broadcast on Mezzo TV since December last year. The next series of broadcasts now awaits the viewers next month – on February 4 at 7:45 am, on February 9 at 2:40 pm, on February 11 at 12:30 pm, on February 18 at 10:45 am (Kazakhstan time).
