Kuala Lumpur hosted Kazakhstan Culture Days

Kazakhstan community in Malaysia celebrated Nauryz, which marks the beginning of a new year, where after long winter families and friends gather together to meet the new beginning. This year’s celebration brought together friends of Kazakhstan at the one of the popular education destinations among Kazakhstan students – Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation based in Kuala Lumpur, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

As part of the celebration, on March 15-27, Qazaq Student Association and Kazakhstan Community in Malaysia with the APU support hosted a number of events. For almost 2 weeks, a Kazakh nomadic house called “Kiiz Ui” or “Yurt” with the beautiful interior decoration, drawings of little Kazakhstan citizens about Nauryz and the Kazakhstan-Malaysian friendship, the 30th Anniversary of which is celebrated this year, Kazakhstan movie night as well as photo exhibition with beautiful views of Kazakhstan were exhibited.

The main event was attended by more than 300 guests including our diaspora members, students, the APU leadership, international friends, media and business representatives. Bright and talented Kazakhstan students hosted folk dances, music, poem recitation and a real traditional “Tusau Kesu” ceremony inside the “Kiiz Ui”. The Nauryz guests enjoyed these performances, accompanied by different competitions and, of course, Kazakh traditional food. They also had an opportunity to receive memorable gifts from the event.
