On May 13, 2022, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan was opened in Ulsan. Lee Sang Hoon, President of Dongkwang Corporation, has been appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ulsan. The solemn presentation of the consular patent took place with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea B.Dyussenbayev and the Vice Mayor of Ulsan Cho Won-kyung, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The consular district of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ulsan will also include the city of Daegu and the provinces of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do. The main function of the office will be to establish economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties with the southeastern region of Korea, as well as to assist in protecting the rights of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
