Another high-profile premiere is being prepared at the Astana Ballet Theatre. This time, the capital’s audience will be delighted with a two-act production “Silk Road” (Dance of Peace) to the libretto of the Kazakhstani poet, Honoured Figure of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Kairbekov. The performance will be shown on June 18 and 19. The choreographer is Mukaram Avakhri, Chief Choreographer of the Astana Ballet Theatre, Honoured Figure of Kazakhstan. The sale of tickets for the performance has already begun and is carried out online on the theatre’s website, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The Silk Road is a symbol of inspiration and beauty, which regains its original Wisdom - humanity needs it to exchange goods, inventions, new technologies, and ideas. However, it can only exist in the space of peacefulness, when there is an opportunity to share the most precious things.
This is a meditation ballet with an incredible hypnotic charm. Well-honed graceful movements with bright, precise, and recognizable content and meaning will be presented on the stage of the Astana Ballet Theatre in accordance with the current thinking and a new aesthetic.
The “Silk Road” performance is a path of dance, music, a mixture of styles and cultures, which includes the following scenes: “The Creation of Silk”, “The Journey of the Caravan”, “Jade”, “The Creation of Pottery”, “Rome”, “Persia”, “Huns” and others.
“The idea of creating this ballet belongs to the art manager of the theatre Assel Issabayeva. It is under active preparation, because staging is being carried out simultaneously with the tour in Almaty, as well as images are being produced for the filming of a promo video, and music is created right there. Choreography of the production is based on classical dance with elements of orientalism and oriental choreography, which gives symbolism and completeness of artistic images to the performance, making the dancer’s body a manifestation of harmony that is in unity with music,” the choreographer shared.
Talented people of Art took part in the creation of the ballet performance: composers – Armand Amar and Renat Gaissin, costume designers – Assel Shalabayeva and Dina Buksikova, stage designer – Askar Iskakov, and video designer – Nurlan Kerei.
The idea of staging the ballet is implemented by the Foundation for the Development and Support of Ballet and National Dance with the assistance of the General Partner – “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC.
The peculiarity of this project is that the film version of the “Silk Road” production is being shot simultaneously in order to introduce admirers of ballet art from all over the world to the history of the emergence and development of the Great Silk Road, as well as to the unique cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
Performances start at 6 pm on June 18 and 19.
