On July 6, 2022, the famous hockey player, defender of Kazakhstan national team, Darren Dietz visited the Heart Center. At the moment, being the player of the CSKA hockey team, Darren Dietz continues his sports career in a foreign club, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
At a press conference, the hockey player presented the Gagarin Cup, which was awarded to CSKA in the victory of the playoff series of the Continental Hockey League this season. The rolling trophy is named after the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin and has been awarded to the best team of the season since 2008.
“The Gagarin Cup is undoubtedly an important trophy in the career of every athlete. In addition, the hockey prize bears the name of Yuri Gagarin, the first cosmonaut to fly from the territory of our country. Therefore, it is a great joy for me to come to Kazakhstan and share the victory with my fans. I express my gratitude to the hockey enthusiasts who came to the event today,” shared Darren Dietz.
The event was aimed at uniting sports and medicine, supporting an active lifestyle and taking care of health. Also, the date of the event symbolically coincided with World Cardiologist Day. During the meeting, the athlete presented a hockey stick as a charity lot to the Heart Center Fund and held an autograph session with the fans of the ice sport.
"Medicine and sports are closely interrelated and the development of both spheres primarily contributes to improving the health and quality of life of our citizens. We thank Darren Dietz for the participation in this event, his constant support of the Heart Center’s initiatives and his generous contribution to the development of charity," said Tatyana Ivanova-Razumova, Medical Director of the clinic.
By the way, this was not the first visit of the hockey player to the Heart Center. As the captain of the Barys hockey team, Darren Dietz visited the patients of the children's department of the clinic last year.
