In order to promote national sports, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Switzerland organized a visit of representatives of the Association "Qazaq Kuresi" at the Swiss Federal Festival of Schwingen and Alpine sports, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
Kazakh and Swiss wrestlers held joint demonstration training sessions. In the course of friendly duels, athletes not only competed, but also exchanged experience and learned about the specifics and similarities of traditional wrestling.
Representatives of the "Qazaq Kuresi" Association and the "Federal Schwingen Wrestling Association" discussed opportunities for cooperation and development of national wrestling, including preparations for the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two associations.
Traditional wrestling is very popular in both countries, and such cooperation will certainly increase the mutual interest of the two nations of Kazakhstan and Switzerland in each other's cultures.
The 2022 Federal Schwingen and Alpine Wrestling Festival is being held in Pratteln, Canton of Basel-Landschaft, August 26-28, with over 400,000 guests expected to attend.
The Kazakh delegation included Yerlan Auganbaev, "Qazaq kuresi" development director, Mukhit Tursynov, international master of sports in kazakh kuresi, Qazaqstan Barysy 2014 champion, and Olzhas Shynkeyev, master of sports in kazakh kuresi, judo and sambo, "Nur-Sultan Barysy" gold medalist in 2021.
The Federal Agency «Switzerland Tourism» supported the participation of the Kazakh delegation in the Federal Festival of Schwingen and alpine sports.
