The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary attended the reburial of remains of Soviet soldiers killed during the liberation of Hungary, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The ceremony dedicated to reburial of the remains of 14 Soviet soldiers found in various Hungarian cities over the past two years was held at a cemetery in central Budapest.

The remains of 14 Soviet soldiers who died during World War II on the territory of Hungary and were found during the construction work in 2021-2022 in Budapest, Debrecen, Szigethalom, Nyíregyháza, Varpalota and Kern were reburied in the Kerepesi cemetery, where the largest war memorial to Soviet soldiers in the country, founded in 1946, with seven thousand graves, is located.

The reburial was organized by the Russian Embassy and the Russian Defense Ministry's Office of War and Memorial Affairs with the support of the Military Institute and Museum of the Hungarian Defense Ministry and the Hungarian National Heritage Institute.

The reburial and wreath-laying ceremony was attended by representatives of the embassies of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Trade Mission and others.
