Kazakh Gymnast Akmaral Yerekesheva Wins Historic Gold at Junior World Championships, DKnews.kz reports.
The final stage of the Junior World Championships in individual rhythmic gymnastics disciplines has kicked off in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Kazakh gymnast Akmaral Yerekesheva confidently advanced through qualification and brought home the first gold medal in Kazakhstan’s history at a junior world championship.
Yerekesheva showcased top-tier execution in the ball routine, scoring 26.150 points to claim her first gold. She went on to win a second gold, also in the ball apparatus. In the hoop final, she delivered another brilliant performance and earned a silver medal with a score of 26.950.
“These are Kazakhstan’s first-ever medals at a Junior World Championship,” said her coach, Meruert Balginbayeva. “Previously, the best we achieved was fourth place. Now, two of my gymnasts reached the finals and delivered outstanding results. This is a major accomplishment.”
Another Kazakh gymnast, Aiganym Rysbek, also reached the finals. She competed in the clubs routine and finished in the top five globally.

This international success follows Kazakhstan’s strong showing earlier this year at the Asian Championships in Singapore, where the national team claimed gold in the group all-around, solidifying Kazakhstan’s position on the rhythmic gymnastics world stage.
The achievements of these young athletes mark a historic milestone for Kazakh rhythmic gymnastics and serve as an inspiring example for future generations.
