The first book of Ilyas Esenberlin's trilogy «Nomads» was presented in Brazil

On the occasion of Republic Day and as part of the launch of the «Kazakh Library in Brazil» project, the presentation of the Brazilian edition of the first volume of the «Nomads» trilogy by Ilyas Esenberlin took place. The event was organized by the Friendship Forum «Kazakhstan – Brazil» with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the National Library of Brasilia, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, the leadership of the National Library, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Brazil, experts from academic institutions, as well as local media.

In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Bolat Nussupov, spoke about the main milestones in the formation of Kazakh statehood in the literary heritage of Ilyas Yesenberlin, noted that the trilogy «Nomads» occupies a special place in Kazakh literature. The Kazakh diplomat emphasized that in his work Ilyas Yesenberlin for the first time in national literature artistically comprehended the history of the Kazakhs at a long historical stage.

The appeal also drew parallels of events in the history of the Kazakh people with the achievements of our state at the present stage. In this context, the Ambassador noted the political reforms of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the systemic modernization of the state and society within the framework of the national program «New and Just Kazakhstan». The Ambassador in his report also briefed the guests on the plans for cooperation with Brazil within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.

The participants of the event were also welcomed by the President of the Friendship Forum «Kazakhstan – Brazil», ex-Senator of the National Congress of Brazil Ulisses Riedel, Director of the National Library Elisa Raquel Sousa Oliveira and Executive Director of the Friendship Forum «Kazakhstan – Brazil», Professor of the Center for Asian Studies of the Federal University of Fluminense and the author of the translation books in portuguese Edelcio Americo.

Brazilian experts showed a big interest in the history of the formation of the first Kazakh state, emphasizing that the work conveys the spirit of that time, characteristic of the steppe civilization and the formation of national identity. The participants also shared their opinion on the importance of Ilyas Yesenberlin's work in the history of Kazakhstan, his special role in the development of Kazakh literature and the influence of his works on national identity and partioticism.

This event launched an educational project of the Embassy called «Kazakh Library in Brazil», aimed at popularizing the works of Kazakh authors, the history and culture of Kazakhstan in Latin America.
