The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to extend the validity of the anti-dumping duty for ferrosilicon manganese from Ukraine imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union by five years, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The decision was adopted following a repeated anti-dumping investigation initiated by the EEC's Internal Market Protection Department on June 25, 2021 due to the expiration of the applicable measure. The investigation was conducted on the basis of the application of such producers of goods from the EAEU, as Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Combinate JSC and West Siberian Electrometallurgical Plant LLC. The statement was also supported by Taraz Metallurgical Plant LLP, Temirtau Electrometallurgical Combine JSC and Aksu Ferroalloy Plant – a branch of TNK Kazchrome JSC.

The analysis of the information received made it possible to conclude about the possibility of resuming the dumping import of goods and causing damage to the branch of the Union's economy in the event of termination of the anti-dumping measure.

In accordance with the Decision No. 58 of the EEC Board dated June 2, 2016, from October 28, 2016, an anti-dumping measure in the form of an anti-dumping duty in the amount of 26.35% of the customs value was established for ferrosilicon manganese imported into the customs territory of the EAEU from Ukraine. For the period of re-investigation, the effect of the anti-dumping measure was extended by the Decision of the EEC Board No. 108 dated August 24, 2021.
