On December 15, 2022, with the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Hong Kong SAR, PRC, the Department of Tourism of Almaty city organized the Almaty Tourism Roadshow, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The event was attended by the General Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Almas Seitakynov, Head of the Tourism Department of Almaty Ms. S. Amankeldi, Director of the Protocol Department of the Government of Hong Kong Mr. G.Tsang, Head of the Hong Kong Tourism Council Ms. F. Jung, representatives of various state bodies of Hong Kong, heads of foreign diplomatic missions, figures of culture and art of the city.
At the roadshow, 10 Kazakhstani travel companies (Sky way, Complete service, Tumar trans, etc.) met with more than 100 Hong Kong travel agencies and about 20 tourism associations. As part of the event, the Department of Tourism of Almaty signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong. Domestic and foreign tour operators have agreed on cooperation.
Paintings about the nature of Kazakhstan, and products of domestic artisans were shown in addition to the tourist potential of Almaty, Kazakh students performed kui, and artists sang folk songs.
At a special master class, ethnographer Ms. A. Musagazhinova showed how to cook Kazakh national dishes. Those present managed to taste the «Bylamyk» porridge, kurt, zhent, kazy, saumal drink and become participants in the tea ceremony.
The tourist roadshow was held for the first time in Hong Kong in recent years and has become one of the highlights of the outgoing year.
