The film debut of 16-year-old Alikhan Abildin from Karaganda turned out to be a great success. The guy won the prize for Best actor at the Eurasia International Film Festival, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
This year, for the first time, a national competition was held at the film festival. Here were presented the 15 best films that appeared over the past two years. One of the prizes of the national competition went to Alikhan Abildin. The guy won in the nomination "For the best male role", playing the main character in the film by Yana Skopina "Summer will end soon".
The film has already been released in Kazakhstan.
Alikhan never dreamed of a movie. His main interest in life is music. After graduating from a music school in Karaganda, I decided to move on. This year he became a student of the Almaty Tchaikovsky Music College.
In Instagram, the producer of the film "Summer will end soon" Yerkezhan Maksut contacted me. She said that my type was suitable, and invited me to the casting. I refused for a long time because I have no acting experience at all. Besides, I have always seen myself only as a musician. Now I'm studying to be a drummer. My parents and brother persuaded me. They said that it was not worth giving up such a chance" Alikhan Abildin
Alikhan easily passed the casting and turned out to be the youngest on the set. At that time he was 15 years old. But even then he understood what a responsible business it was, and tried his best to get used to the role of the main character of Baha. For two whole summer months – that's how long the shooting lasted – the aspiring film actor left his comfort zone.
It was hard for me to work at night. Sometimes the shooting took place from 11 pm to 11 am. I really wanted to sleep, but I overcame myself. And I didn't get used to the role right away. The film tells about the 80s. Then both youth and life values were different. I also don't look like my hero at all. I was a closed person, I had almost no friends. After filming, I made friends with cool people, I still communicate with them. Besides, now sometimes I notice that I behave like a Baha in everyday life, more openly" Alikhan Abildin
The most memorable episode of filming for Alikhan was quarantine. The director of the film picked up the covid. For two weeks, the entire cast of the film was locked up in hotels. And when everyone recovered and started filming, interesting ideas appeared. The break helped to look at all the scenes in a new way.
The victory at the festival was a surprise for the aspiring actor. Popular Kazakhstani actors were announced in his nomination. Alikhan was betting on Askar Ilyasov. When I heard my name, I was stunned.
For me, winning the film festival is a huge step forward. It will help me to go further and achieve my goals. I don't plan to become a movie actor. Although if there are proposals for filming, I will definitely consider it. But I still want to devote myself to music, to become a famous musician not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the world" Alikhan Abildin
