Kazakhstan kickboxers and karateka won medals at Asian championships

Karaganda athletes performed well as part of the national teams at the Asian Karate and kickboxing championships. Three fighters replenished the piggy bank of awards with four medals, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The WKF Karate Championship of the continent among cadets, youth and adults was held in Tashkent. About 500 athletes from 22 countries took part in it. Kazakhstan took the second team place.

Nikita Tarnakin (coach – V. L. Bokiy) spoke from the Karaganda region. The athlete became the second in the team kumite among adults and the third in the individual kumite among youth.

And the Asian Kickboxing Championship among adults was held in Bangkok. Kazakhstan won 36 medals and took the first team place.

Ruslan Stepanov from Karaganda (coach – G. A. Papu), who won the gold medal, and Akim Bekbolat from Balkhash (coaches – D. Sametov and Zh. Usen), who became a silver medalist.
