As a result of the joint work carried out by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in San Francisco (USA), an agreement was reached with Microsoft Corporation to open a multi-regional hub located in Kazakhstan. This became known during a bilateral meeting between the Minister of Digital Development Bagdat Musin and the CEO of Microsoft for Kazakhstan Sergey Leshchenko, DKNews.kz reports.

The hub's activities will cover the countries of Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia and Pakistan.

"Localization of Microsoft's activities will allow Kazakhstan to become a center of attraction for technologies and advanced solutions on a regional scale. Thus, being the center of technological development and innovation of Microsoft, the hub will be able to become a driver of human capital development and strengthening of the national economy through stimulating the production and export of products of non-primary technological industries" Minister of Digital Development Bagdat Musin

"The creation of the Microsoft Regional Hub is of great importance for Kazakhstan. Your country has all the relevant infrastructure. We will be happy to work here and implement joint projects" Sergey Leshchenko, General Director of the Microsoft office in Kazakhstan

The parties also discussed the issue of expanding the use of the Kazakh language in a larger number of the corporation's services, including ChatGPT.

Recall that in September last year, during a visit to the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the CEO of Microsoft Corporation for Central and Eastern Europe Michelle Simmons. During the meeting, issues of further cooperation were discussed, in particular, the expansion of the Kazakhstan office to a regional hub.

In March, during the working visit of Bagdad Musin to Silicon Valley, the prospects of expanding the office in Kazakhstan were again touched upon in the Microsoft office.
