What new projects are Kazakhstan and China preparing in the field of science and education?

A delegation headed by Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Zhang Tao, Director General of the Bureau of Science and Technology for Development of CAS Wen Ya and Consul for Science and Education of the Consulate General of China in Almaty Zhang Wei arrived at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on a working visit and familiarized with the scientific infrastructure of the university, DKNews.kz reports.

The honored guests got acquainted with the work of the centers of technological innovation and remote sensing of the Earth, visited the scientific exhibition of KazNU scientists, as well as the KazNU Museum and the Situational Management Center located in the Al-Farabi library.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that the partnership between China and Kazakhstan in the field of science and education is developing dynamically.

"Al-Farabi Kazakh National University cooperates with more than 50 universities of China. In the 2019-2022 academic year, 79 students of KazNU completed an internship at Chinese universities under the academic mobility program. The Institute of Confucius and the Department of Chinese Studies work in the educational institution. The university implements 100 innovative projects developed by KazNU scientists. I think it is necessary to work together in the scientific direction and on the commercialization of innovative projects" Zhanseit Tuimebayev

In turn, Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of the People's Republic of China Zhang Tao noted that today's visit will give a new impetus to the further strengthening of bilateral relations.

"KazNU is one of the leading universities in Central Asia. I think today's meeting will be beneficial for both sides. At the same time, we are making efforts to develop science and education. Therefore, we are ready to cooperate with the KazNU" Zhang Tao

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation between KazNU and the the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the near future.
