Damir Toibai, a student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, won a silver medal at the 15th international tournament dedicated to the memory of Shokyr Boltekula, the founder of Kazakh boxing and an honored coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan, DKNews.kz reports.
In addition to Kazakhstan, more than 150 athletes from China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took part in the competition held on September 20-24 in Aktau.
Damir Toibai, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health of Al-Farabi KazNU, who participated in the weight category of 92 kg, defeated his rivals and got a ticket to the final competition. He lost to his rival in the final won a silver medal.
