Prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan

Pakistan Attaches Great Importance to Strengthening Relations with Kazakhstan, DKNews.kz reports.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin met with the newly appointed Speaker of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sardaz Ayaz Sadiq.

Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin congratulated Sardaz Ayaz Sadiq with his election to a high post, expressing confidence in the further strengthening of the inter-parliamentary dialogue between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan under his leadership.

For his part, the head of the lower house of Parliament said that Islamabad considers Kazakhstan as an important partner of the Central Asian region, expressing a firm intention to increase interaction at the level of legislators of the two countries.

During the conversation, the parties discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, the dynamics of cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.

The head of the diplomatic mission informed about current bilateral projects, spoke about issues that require resolution at the government level, and about events planned to be carried out within the framework of bilateral and multilateral formats in the near and medium term.

Ayaz Sadiq particularly highlighted the role and contribution of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq as co-chairman of the Kazakh-Pakistani intergovernmental commission, who laid the foundation for further building up bilateral cooperation and organized the 11th meeting of the commission in December 2022 in Islamabad.

Special attention of the interlocutors was paid to the development of transit, transport and logistics infrastructure in the context of establishing interregional cooperation.

Yerzhan Kistafin emphasized that Kazakhstan and Pakistan can serve as hubs connecting regions and continents.

Another extremely important topic for discussion was the security situation in the region, the growing terrorist threat and the measures being taken.

Both sides expressed a unanimous opinion on the need to establish interaction at the level of special services and law enforcement agencies of the two countries, which will help create a favorable environment for development and diversification in all areas of interaction.

At the end of the meeting, the Speaker of the National Assembly assured that all the issues mentioned would be in the special focus of the Parliament of Pakistan, expressing readiness to provide all possible assistance in promoting the bilateral agenda and resolving emerging issues.

For his part, the Ambassador thanked Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for his support and donated to the Library of the National Assembly “Book of Words” by Abai Kunanbayuly, translated into the languages of the provinces of Pakistan, as well as a Kazakh-Urdu phrasebook published for the first time.
